Sight specific installation (multi-level transitional corridor and stairwell)
Architectural givens, wood, epoxy, mirrored glass, tempered fiberboard, latex paint
Dimensions Variable
False walls were built to mask the floor to ceiling windows within the three leveled corridor in which the installation is situated. Wooden liner forms were constructed in the studio and then brought into the space. When seen from a particular perspective, the space that falls behind their closed, linear forms is mapped. When this mapping falls upon a false wall that material is removed revealing the exterior world. When that mapping falls upon an immovable structural component of the building the mapped shapes are added materially with mirrored glass cut often at near impossible angles – pushing the limits of the material. Light projects in from the outside and is amplified by the mirrored glass.
